Senior Vice President, Head of Consulting
MKTG Sports + Entertainment

As Senior Vice President, Head of Consulting for MKTG Sports + Entertainment, Doug is responsible for overseeing a leading roster of clients including FedEx, IBM, Toyota, Procter & Gamble, Ally, Mars, AIG, Kroger, Hitachi, Intuit, and others. Doug also heads up MKTG’s global analytics practice and its internal research company, Sponsorship Research International (SRi). SRi’s client roster includes properties and brands such as the NFL, Kraft Sports Group, Major League Soccer, JP Morgan Chase, USAA, Kroger, Toyota, and many others.

In Doug’s 20+ year career, he has had experience on all three sides of the business – agency, property, and sponsor. Coming out of graduate school, Doug joined the US Olympic & Paralympic Committee to head up the organization’s market research department, and quickly advanced to oversee brand development and advertising. From there, he joined Monster Worldwide to lead the organization’s Marketing Services group. At the time Monster was a perennial Super Bowl advertiser and had a robust sponsorship portfolio. In 2005, he joined Velocity Sports & Entertainment, which later became Team Epic, and ultimately MKTG. In 2013, Doug was recruited to lead the launch of a consulting group for Stephen Ross’ RSE Ventures / Ascendent Sports Group. Doug rejoined MKTG in 2015 to lead innovation and new business for the consulting group and oversee Sponsorship Research International. In December of 2020, he was promoted to SVP, Head of Consulting.

Doug earned an MBA from the University of Oregon and a BA in Psychology from the University of Washington. He was a member of the inaugural class from the James H. Warsaw Sports Marketing Center at the University of Oregon.  Doug lives in Fairfield, CT with his wife Shelley and two children Sierra and Jack.
